Hi there, Got my blog hosted with Hostgator, therefore wp admin etc is only with my Hostgator, so if that ever failed once, then I would be without my blog and hard work. Just wondered how I can back up my blog posts etc? Other than copying and pasting each, also I want to back all files up, so if it ever went down I could host my blog elsewhere (I formatted computer, and didn't save my work), but it is up on the net, so thats not a problem (I assume) I can just go to cuteftp and just download the folder and re upload when required? Am I right? Much appreciated, any advice appreciated
Infact, just downloaded WP-DB is that all I need? And schedule it to backup the databases each week etcc? Is that all I need the database ? It backups a .sql .... is this all I will need if my website comes under fire (Hosting failure etc?) .... I really am a little cautious at the moment. Just want my mind at rest !
You need to take home directory backup as well through cpanel backup option for your theme files etc. WP - DB backup is good for mysql db backup. DON.
