Hello, We are in the process of creating distributed ecommerce platform. This will have 1000s of ecommerce storefronts (each operated by different resellers) with similar products, images, descriptions, blog articles etc... from a common database. Current architecture is to use a subdomain for each store front, and use domain masking to make things easy to develop. Different storefronts will different names, logos, different product combination etc.. My question is will this cause Google to penalize as content spamming? If so how to get around it? Does it better to use multiple IPs vs same IP? independent domains vs masked domains/sub domains? I was reading up on Google webmaster area, it seems like google does not differentiate between duplicate content on same domain, subdomain or different domain for duplicate content. What are your thoughts? Any links to articles discussing these from Googles SE ranking perspective would be great. Recently Google came out with some explanation on how they handle duplicate content issues. This is more about content syndication. Any thoughts on avoiding google penalty Thanks, Aji
I thought using same IP will have the high chance for Google to assume its spamming. I haven't seen any studies/reports to support either way. Just my intuition. have you see naything?
