And What exactly is that? Why google Panelize directories and what step should we take to avoid that?
You appear to be asking something completely different from your thread title. What do you mean by directory spamming? You cant take any steps to avoid a directory being penalised, seriously, because if you could, then i think a few hundred people would of ditched their penalised directories and just setup fresh ones with the comfort of knowing they can avoid a penalisation on the new ones. So basically you cant avoid it, because no one knows how to. To answer why they penalise Answer: Because nearly all web directories serve to manipulate ranking in search engines, nearly all are made for seo reasons and not for people to use like they do other sites. Took me about 2 years to finally accept that. (im a slow learner you see) lol *Gulp* btw, you offer seo advice, shouldn't you know this already? you should be the one telling us.
This makes a good read - http://www.seomoz.org/blog/what-mak...y-and-why-google-penalized-dozens-of-bad-ones
yes, thanks for the answer from Pipes i am a newbie for SEO, i learn it almost 2 months , i know some technologies of seo, but i dont konw how to perform them. and i know this will be a long time to build the experience
It depends on which directory you submit, before submitting the directory you need to check the PR of the website, then you need to check how many google backlinks it has got and then submit to that directory. If its a PR0 and has no google backlinks avoid submitting it.
The only step you take if you want Google not to penalize your directory is to maintain quality resourceful links...
if you use phpLD, install this Recaptcha mod, http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21487
IMO this is something that your directory script should help you with. Especially now days where 9/10 submissions are bad ones, and need to be rejected. Not many do *much* in the way of this, but I think we'll see more in the near future. SBD Directory Script (in sig) identifies and filters out most of the bad submissions into risk assessments, which then allows you to delete them in bulk. It saves a bunch of time and helps you avoid directory spamming, along with other junk submissions. Were you seriously wanting to know what directory spamming was, or was it just a lead to your other question? Google hates link farms, and if you take an 'accept all' policy that's what you are. If that's the case, of course Google are going to penalise you in one form or another.
Let me give you an example. This is what I call spam-infested Directory and it's your Check Business Category this second from the top link You maneged to add spamsite that uses Bearing in title alone 4 times and 12 times in description Any more questions? fastreplies
Yes, your directory is a prime example of what not to do Yours and thousands of others alike are the main reason G got fed up, What is your approval rate? 100% It's funny because I checked out your latest links page and I see a bunch of sites that I rejected
