    Dear Rajesh,
Its a bad practice to publish copy content, famous google algo Panda is launched against copy content. I think it takes action within one or two months according to last few updates.

With the latest Google Algorithm, I think that being on the safe side may be better. Thus, I would find it less risky to avoid using contents that is not unique to your site as long as you are not trying to quote it or build a curation blog.

Google will definitely punish you for this. You have two options one rewrite or spin the article or tell the google that you have moved your site in webmaster tools.

Thats the way, just modify it so that it is moderately different so that you still have some existing content online while you write some more

    I think no..
Why you're not see how many duplicate content in the Amazon Book Stores?
In the example when I search "some title of books", they show me many results that have a same content in the post and picture.. But they still available in the search result on specify keywords... :)

I have a question here friends,
Maybe someone's else copied your content. Does Google know that your content is the original one?
and maybe by accident you put your article twice . Does it consider it as duplicated?

Generally Google give priority to content from authority website (Mean where it is posted first).

There is two solution for this issue:

1st- Try to write new content for your blog.
2nd- If you want to put same posts on your blog from your website then it should be properly rewritten.

One article should be posted on one website only, if you are copying content from your site and posting to other sites then it would be duplicate content.

You can either remove copied content from your original site, or add fresh content to your new site. By the way why xxx.wordpress site is more important than a site on your own domain?

Considering how cheap content is nowadays, there is just no excuse for duplicate content. Spinners = next target of google?

I totally agree, quality content is easy to create. Moreover, it is really worth it to use fresh and unique copy. Don't be fools and follow the Google rules to rank higher on SERPs.

Is there a 'time to block' with this? I recently started my blog and have been promoting it in several places (forums) where I copy & paste the content rather than just the link (to abide by their rules), but it looks like it's having a negative effect. This has only gone on for about a month and with ~20 posts and I'm not doing it anymore moving forward. Am I still ok?

even if the articles are on your site, Google will still consider it as duplicate copies... as much as possible, try to make your content unique... You may rewrite the articles but make sure that they will all pass copyscape or other similar software.
