How to avoid being ripped OFF in DP forums!!
I thought I would write this article to diffuse the anger I have from being ripped of on DP, now I know we all do these things at our own risk but anyway,

I wrote 50x300+ words articles for an agreed price of $150, which I said he could have for $120 as the articles were all similar and I only charge what I believe my time is worth.

I realized after receiving a duplicate order that the person I was writing for was in fact outsourcing the same job offer! What happened is he got an advance, I done the work, he pissed off and now the real site owners do not want to pay the actual Owner of this work for his writing. I understand the owner being played to but how is that the writers fault, and is it not illegal to publish content without the consent of the original owner/author?.

Does anyone else have problems like this? anyway now it is being investigated and I am the poor sucker who has had to do all this work for nothing until it gets sorted(if it gets sorted).
I thought with a post like this I might be able to attract some legit well paying publisher that want an english (aussie) writer who works hard and simply wants a hassle free way of freelancing my writing skills. I do not think the forum has enough protection for those of us who are not rich and are working hard to break out online.

I'd love to hear similar stories and maybe with some comments and discussion we can help alert people to the scam masters here on DP.

It's very unfortunate that such a thing happened with you but it's not uncommon here at DP, and I agree with you that more and better protection system is needed here at the forum to prevent such incidents happening again as they tarnish a forum's reputation on the web.

In my opinion everyone who's in the content writing business should use such a sytem that the client gets his done project only after he pays for it. Whenever I'm selling articles on other forums, I ask the buyer to pay first and then give him an option of instant download of his done project. For this purpose, I use paypal, and e-junkie, and my personal site. And so far never had a problem of being robbed by someone. If you don't have a personal site, then just use e-junkie to get your payment and deliver the product.

By the way, how much do you charge for 350 words article, 500 words article, and 700 words article?

You can't really do anything. Hire people who have a good reputation.

He has then gone on to give me truly, wrong, negative feedback and that really is not fair after spending 12-18 hours writing them. how can people be allowed to do that!!

While working online in forums offering your services, you shouldn't expect to be treated fairly and honestly. That's one of the major problems of working and earning online. You have to treat it differently from the offline world, and what has happened with you is nothing exceptional, you should rather be prepared for more outrageous things to come, and to happen with you.
This is cyber world, anything is possible here[unfortunately].

I understand that, but how is a person supposed to build his credibility and wallet, when he gets flamed and not paid?
and the admin do nothing to address it, and let these nasty e-mails and PM, wrong feedback and that continue when they say it is against there tos? are we not all jut trying to get a head. But at who's expense

It's hard to find people on forums to conduct honest business with. If you need a little protection you can try offering your services on sites like oDesk and freelancer

Stop being a drama queen. I've been ripped off only once on this forum the whole time I have been using it.

You should always use your due diligence when dealing with someone, whether it be on DP or another site.

Sometimes that doesnt matter, even a company with good reviews can go bad. I bought services from a dp member about a week ago, and he still has not completed the project or provided a refund. I also bought a $500 script from a company that appeared to have very good reviews, after 1+ weeks with constant script issues, I asked for a refund, well I guess I am being ignored, i get an email back saying it will be fixed in 3 hours, well, 3 days later it hasnt been fixed, now they do not appear to be responding, and it does not seem like they are going to wilfully give back the $500. I guess we will just have to do this the hard way, and I am still waiting for that DP member to return my $20.00

    Thank-You

I got ripped one or twice on DP. It was usually just buying links on bunk/temporary sites but you have to watch out some unethical people spend their whole day trying to scam people on SEO forums.
