Nice to see so many problems user gets with paypal. Why get all this trouble anyway? Its simple, you can simply NOT GIVE OUT a credit card for your account. Thats what I do. You're gonna tell me: "But hey, how can i buy online if I want to use paypal but have no revenu from my websites or anything to refill it up?" Well put a DONATION by paypal button on your website, and go throught it to fund your account! Say you have no paypal account, and use your credit card to send a donation to your account! Voila! Now you're sure no one can hack your account and use your credit card for fraudulent purchases! Plus, that will avoid all the problems you get throught paypal to cancel those fraudulent purchases. More than that, if you do a purchase and lack funds in your account, you're sure the price won't be sneaked up on your credit card, which can be quite nasty. Little problem is there will be a small % fees on your payment receival, but just do bigger fundings, less often. Its a small price to keep your credit card secure and still use paypal. And I doubt paypal would complain getting twice the % fees on your purchase, unlike if you pay directly the merchant. Personnaly, find this is the best option. Now you're secure!
This sounds like a lot of extra work and lost money due to paranoia. Your account has almost no chance of being accessed by anyone else unless you give them your password or you fall for a phishing scam. Also, you can't legitimately verify the account without adding a credit/debit card.
Hmm, in fact, its quite easy to do. Takes only 2 minute to set up. Then pay by credit card as a donation. Actually, its quite good.
I avoid all troubles by using a limited credit card, in fact it's a credit card that works like a debit one. I can only spend the amount i've there, if it goes to zero i can't spend anymore. Pretty cool to use online, i just put the money there that i want to use for my shopping and leave it to zero all the time. Even if i get hacked at my Paypal they can only spend my own paypal balance ( which i've below $50 or so almost all time)
