I was thinking about his... how to get people to notice and click the RSS icon. I tried using an animated image but it looked sucky. Now I have a bigger icon that blends with the site. And it's placed on top of the sidebar. What do you use?
@maxyRO You could try using the standard orange feed icon, that gets more attention than the green one you are using now. Or grow the Green one bigger.. Use the option of feedbruner "E-mail subscriptions" located at the publicize tab, and mention that below the feed icon. Besides that, I suggest you reduce the number of share icons as it takes to much attention Put a line above or below it under every post with a link to the feed with a text like: "Liked this article? Get updates from Green Expander by RSS of E-Mail" You could set a small RSS Feed icon in front.
I use the standard feed icon. Grab the developer kit from feedicons.com. It includes a few vector versions of the icon which can be transformed as big and as small as you want. - Matt
ehmm there is one wordpress plugin for that, like for new user.. ehem i searched for you... http://www.richardkmiller.com/blog/wordpress-plugin-what-would-seth-godin-do http://techie-buzz.com/wordpress-plugins/notify-unconfirmed-subscribers-plugin-release.html ah well, if you find helpful, don't forget to subscribe my feeds.. lol
I would remind your members at the bottom of random posts on your blog. You could also offer bonus content or contests if they subscribe.
Ok, so I switched to the orange one and made it a little bigger. Also inserted a reminder at the end of every post. Right now, I don't want to give extra content to only a part of the readers and it's too early for contests. Thanks for the advice!
@maxyRO Looks good, don't forget to set the email option at FeedBurner, otherwise the email text at the bottom doesn't make sense. Now comes the lang wait... keep the posts comming!
