How to attract expert content?

    Hi,

I'm going to begin working on the basic construction of what I hope will be my main business, www.wudangquan.com here shortly.

I have built a small subsidiary network with related and semi-related sites, like:
    Analects.org
    Combative.Org
    Dynastyswords.com
Goodtao.Com (this will probably be an e-commerce site in the future)
    TaiChiJourney.Com (my blog)
    SpiritualMartialArts.Com
    and Steelrobe.Com . . .

I also have some other domains that I will develop a bit in the next few months like:
    waterboxing.org (probably an affiliate site)
kungfumoviedo (probably will be a self posting blog or something related to martial arts movies)

and I also have a sizeable blog network of blogger blogs, wordpress blogs, wordpress.com blogs, and so on. Around 500-600 at the moment.

I like the domain wudangquan.com the most because it encompasses most of my own personal interests, and it is sort of an authority domain.

So I want to get some feedback on my general plan.

My main interest right now is in developing this site as a huge portal related to a specific type of martial arts. Basically I want to create the equivalent of an online magazine in the front, and a huge web 2.0 style community behind that.

So the most important thing is getting quality content. Once I'm in China next month, I should be able to develop some better personal contacts and get alot of translations done of authority documents and so on, but I don't want to just go this completely alone.

I'm planning on just putting up a landing page on the domain which tries to get people to:
    1. Subscribe to a mailing list to be notified when the site is ready
    2. Directs them to the sites Myspace profile
    3. Solicits authority content contributors.

Once I put this up, I'll start driving some traffic that way.

My question, in a nutshell is about recruiting expert writers, videographers, and so on.

What is the best way to go about that? Does anyone have any experiences they can share with me? Suggestions?

What types of landing pages would be the most effective way to generate people who want to contribute, and also build hype for the sites public launch whenever I'm ready?

I've been watching John Reese's launch of income.com kind of closely, and I like the way there's a landing page in front, and then a blog connected to it which builds interest in the public launch, so I may do something similar.

Anyway - I don't have 1 specific question. I just want to throw out my general plan and see what kind of feedback I can get on this.

    THanks
