Hi there folks, I'm using wordpress on my site, but i want to have my posts on the first page. Divided into 3 separate columns, sort of.... Cees, Not sure about this, I do know that different themes have different layouts, have you looked at those?
I recognize that, It is a "Revolution" theme, its not free but well worth it, the guy is very helpful and his themes are great if you are looking for that type of online magazine kind of look.

Glad to be of assistance, I own licenses to all his themes, and is cheaper to buy them as a package, that way you got them all.
You need to purchase a theme that is laid out like that. even if you try and make CSS modifications on your existing theme, you will still need to also make .php modifications on your index file, and all other files that your new dimensions will affect, which is almost like just coding you own template. Your best option, is to buy a premium theme that will allow you to do this, unfortunately sometimes you do have to pay for things to get them the way you want , if you don't have any coding knowledge yourself. The site you gave as an example is a revolution theme, which is very popular...he was allowing free downloads for a while (without support), but it seems that are for sale again. If that's what you want, you need to open your wallet, there is no free plug in for it. There are a few free magazine style templates available out there, just do a Google search and you'll see plenty. One of them may give you the results that you are looking for.
It is purely depends upon the theme.. search "three column theme" in Google images.. you man get this
