Please I need your expert view on my current move. sorry for the long post,

but i wish to explain clear.
I was actually trying to promote my Asp.Net programming articles ; I am getting ~250 visitors daily. But CTR is very low. After discussing with experts I concluded that the niche is not good for adsense.
So I am just going to find other niches where I can earn some decent adsense earnings.
I hesitated too much to move to different niche, but luckily this niche currently I am analyzing is quite closer and similar. But the visitor profiles are different from programmers so i feel better in terms of CTR.
I have taken the following from Google Traffic estimator for a list of keywords.

    Keyword CPC clicks Cost/day
    ----------------------------------------------
    keyword 1 $2.81 42 $80.00
    keyword 2 $1.27 40 $40.00
    keyword 3 $0.64 14 $7.00
    keyword 4 $1.08 3 $3.00

And I have used Google Adwords Keywords checker tool for the same above keywords for finding the monthly traffic for the keywords

    Keywords Search volume Monthly
    ----------------------------------------------

    keyword 1 49500
    keyword 2 480
    keyword 3 18100
    keyword 4 1,900

Competition I am actually checking the no of results as well the strength of each page in the search result.
My question now is, Will this be enough for bringing in some decent earnings from Adsense?
Should I need to check anything before starting buying domains.etc

1)Do you know how to calculate the competition?
2)Is there any difference in interms of SEO for .Net and .Com domains(base on this i need to buy the new domain)

the first keyword and second keyword's compination is available in .net domain without dashes but not available in .com domain

BTW am i missing anything in this analysis stage? This time i would like to analyse well before proceeding.
