Hello! Well, we have set up a website that is a completely FREE service to Australian musicians (local musicians). It allows them to sell their songs, upload videos, upload songs, sell tickets to events, etc. Basically ANYTHING an artist would ever need online to promote their band. It is also 100% free for the artist. They never need to pay fee's or commission to us when they sell their products. So, I figured this would be great for artists since we do not really have a website like this in Australia. But the problem is I just cant figure out how to advertise this site. I have tried adsense, and got maybe 4 sign ups from it, while spending $70 for advertising for that month. I would like to know what all of you would do if you were in my situation. I am not knowledgeable in marketing or seo. I also have limited funds since this is all getting paid for by my full time job. Thanks The site is www.fretbox.com
Read this forum for a good while, specifically the link-building and SEO sections. Learn some things and you will have tons of ideas for ways to promote the site online. Offline, it sounds like you are already in the business, so just go to clubs/bars etc -places where these kinds of bands would actually be playing or hanging out, and put a flyer.
Thanks for the reply. I was thinking more of advertising means as opposed to link building. I rank high on google search for keywords, but it is more finding places to advertise online. Thanks.
You can use Google Adwords and specify that you are going to place the ads in Australia. Remember get the email address of your visitors.
Question is very general. Target local visitors and advertise your site only on targeted places and local forums..
