Start by adding your forum link in your signature area... pretty sure you need 10 posts and have to had been a member for 7 days.

What you need to do is perhaps look for other similar sites/forums and advertise on those. The owners of those sites might have some sort of banner or text advertising you can use.

Another idea might be to find sites on an ad network like adengage.com where you can buy ad spots directly on sites for a fixed price.

Forums are tricky and require a fair amount of work to get them running and get the people their and being active. Perhaps try offering an incetive or prizes for members who can refer others or make a certain number of posts.

It also helps if your forum plugs a gap in the market where you are the only one doing or offering a certain something.

Pint of difference is really what thats about.... make sure your forum has stand out features of added value.

As the others have said, get a link to it in all of your forums accounts sigs. Then build up the content. The more content the have, and the more often you add new content the better.

Then maybe some google adwords campaigns. You cannot sell T-Shirts without traffic and you won't have enough traffic to sell T-shirts until you have content!

What about printing up flyers and giving them out at local soccer events?

I'd also look at teaming up with other soccer sites that you're not competing directly with. See if you can cross promote.

It depends what shirts you're selling; I know the owner of www.cristianoronaldo.info; get in touch if you're looking at site advertising and I can find out rates and stats for you.

what i want to ask is, how to promote? SEO only or what? Do you think advertise in soccer forums is good? I tried to promote in forum.football.co.uk but it seems useless..also in bigsoccer.com.

all take time to get traffic. what you can do is link exchange to other football sites/blogs/forums. participate and many football forums and put your forum in sig. SEOs is good to rank well in SERPs and will get more traffic. If you got budget you can even go for PPC campaign like adwords.

Wear a t-shirt about your websites to soccer matches.
