Advertise on high traffic site, but keep in mind, your advertise must be placed on the right website. you won't place soccer ad on the classic music site, will you? you must place it on site that visited by your targeted people. Advertise on big forum is also good, your ad will be looked by lot of people who are interested on same things. advertise on many websites also good good luck

Go to youtube and look up the channel for Tiger Direct. Tiger direct is a computer parts reseller. On their youtube channel they have video reviews on hundreds of products that they sale. While your on youtube, take a look at the national geographic channel - they have some really cool videos. Most of those big companies have tapped into large sites like youtube to get traffic. There is no reason you can not do it as well.
