How to advertise a psychic/life advice site/forum/blog?

I'm looking for advice as to how to advertise a psychic/life advice site. We just opened forums and have been struggling to get any traffic to the site. We average around 20 hits per day on the main site, slightly more on the forums, and slightly less on the blog.

Things we had tried thus far:

Banner ad on related, high-traffick site (GhostVillage.com)
Newletter banner on high-traffick site (Workathomemafia.com)
Numerous directory submissions
Articles on large blog networks, to build backlinks
Some (small) social bookmarking
Advertising on our radio show
ForumBoosting, so our forums didn't look desolate

We haven't yet tried ppc advertising, nor purchasing driven traffic to the site. Should we explore those options?

The traffic performance of our network is disappointing and disheartening, to say the least, though we have only been pushing for the last month or so.

I think you should try out few health related social networking sites like Dailystrength.org, trusera.com/ yahoo answer (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=psychic+help+from+yahoo+answer+&btnG=Search)

Did you think about hiring posters for your forum?

 

i also handle a psychic site... it's really hard to get traffic if your site is new.
maybe you could link exchange with other psychic site.
maximize the capabilities of social bookmarking.
