I also dont know good free video encoder, I used VideoCharge Studio. This soft allows create video and add text to video frame, it can simple text, text file, srt file. I think it may help you. VideoCharge Studio dont free, but have free trial!

I am also looking for something like this. I feel the free ones don't work so well. If you do not want to buy the expensive software, you might want to hire someone to do what you need which will be lot cheaper. Just a thought.
