How to add google analytics to my website properly?

    I have tried to add analytics to my website, but failed to perform successfully. I added but checked whether it is done successfully. Please help me in this concern.

    I add the code to my site but failed when I was going to check whether it is installed properly with the code! So please tell me the process how we can successfully use google analytics with my site.
