How to add banners/advertisements to MyBB forum?

Hey,

Can someone please give me a tutorial on how to add advertisements, and banners to MyBB forum? I would like to start making revenue off the site but I cannot figure out how to add advertisements.

If anyone can PM, or leave a walkthrough please do!

There's a modification here, also if you do a search in the modification forum for "advert", you'll get loads of mods for it.

I have looked at this thread, it seems like a nice plugin but I'm not sure how to install it as I am very bad with programming Is there anyway you could walk me through it or explain it to me?

You could always hardcode it, likely in the index or header templates.

 

LOL I dont know how to do that either, if any of you could like PM me or YM or something on how to do some of this it would really help! Espicially for future references!

 

All you need to do, is upload one file into the folder /inc/plugins/ and then goto your admin control panel and click the link "Install & Activate", then it'll be up and running straight away, no programming needed.

 

I share the site with another guy, so where do I find this /inc/plugins/ folder? Or can I find it on the Admin CP?

 

When you log onto your FTP server, then you'll see that folder where the forum files are kept.

 

Haha bro, you are going to think I am a complete idoit here but I dont even know what the FTP server is..can I find that by going to my forum? Or is that stored on my computer?

Hmmm... I can't seem to access the forum, but when you started the forum did you upload the files and set it up yourself? Or did the "other guy" do it for you?

 

That is odd I tryed the url I provided you and it worked just fine.

And he created the forum and uploaded all the files etc. I did all the promoting. So now I need to add advertisements so I can get some revenue but I cannot figure out how to do so.

 

Ok, well what I'd suggest is that if you contact him and ask him to install the plugin for you, it'll only take him about a minute or two to do it.

Well, there's that one I linked to and also there's a few others too, but I can't remember where they were... but a little search on the MyBB Community Forum will come up with some.

I used to be a part of the support staff over at MyBB. My board is over on ConvoWorld... but I'm not using any of them advert plugins, I edited the templates myself.
