How to add another section of links in sidebar

Hello all. I would like to add a section in the sidebar that says Free E-books, then list the names of the e-books (similar to the blogroll, but I am using it for other links, so I need a new section). Can someone that knows how to do this please post the code that I need to add to the sidebar, or briefly explain what I need to do if there is another way to do it? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Just drop in a widget, it'll make all the default stuff in the sidebar disappear, but you can use a widget to add it back. Sometimes the widgets aren't named "Blogroll" for instance. I'm using a "Catergory Posts" widget to accomplish what you explained (I think). If you can't find the widget let me know and I'll dig it up.

You can add it manually by adding that in sidebar.php

Thank you for the suggestion deluxdon, but I do not know php, and therefore have no idea how to add it to the sidebar. Please post the code needed when you get a chance.

If you want to add it to the sidebar and don't mind doing it manually whenever you update then use a text widget, and use Kompozer (free) or another WYSIWYG editor to create the code for the hyperlinks.

Yea, don't even think about trying to config your sidebar.php Makes my head spin. Simple instructions. goto your links in your admin sidebar. start creating likes like you normally would but create new category like.... eBook's then visit your widgets page. grab the one that says links, place it where you want it. make sure you change the category of links so it shows your new links for eBooks. There are some great plugins too. external links I think is one of them. I hope this helps :)
