how to add a chat mod to my smf1.1.4 forum?

    hi
    i jus installed my new smf1.1.4.
    i tried to add a chat mod to it.but it shows some modification phrase errors.
    though i tried to add a mod that is compatible with my version of smf,it gives out the same error
    please suggest me on how to integrate a chat mod to my forum.
