how to acquire (legal) email lists for email marketing.

    Hi,
    How does one go about acquiring email lists for marketing (screen scraping perhaps?). For instance, we are trying to market a free service to real estate agents (among other verticals)? In other words, how does one reach these folks through email without spamming them?

    I am a newbie here, so pls. point me elsewhere if this is not the right forum to ask this question.

    Find websites in your niche with big userbase and try to come up with some sort of a deal with the website owners OR start building your own list. The sooner you start the better! You can build your list easily by offering a free article, ebook or whatever to subscribers. Make sure what you are offering is within the same niche as well.

    Yeah, how people get a big email list requires alot of time and patients, the most known way is to create a squeeze page with a free offer ( ebook, Sample of your product or anything that would catch your eye )

    Most people use a service called Aweber for that

    @Real_YT_Business: Thanks for your response. Did not know about Aweber. We have a functional website with signup forms, not sure how aweber will help, but will check it out.


    @Yourwebsolution: Thanks, we are trying to attract businesses in real estate, legal, automotive, finance, insurance to sign up. This will likely help when we try to market to the consumers.
