    Just remember that the majority of Backlink Checker Tools actually get their data from Yahoo anyway - so in reality, there's very little choice.

    seomoz.org offer a neat tool that is based on their own database & it includes some decent info about each link. I'd recommend using both Yahoo & SEOMoz together for a more complete overview.

    I have tried backlinkwatch.it gives you the total result of backlinks and also the total count.

    Backlinkwatch is good for monitoring all your backlinks that you've work. But don't consume that Google will count it. Since Google just index those quality links :)

    Google Webmaster is quite reliable for checking backlinks...and there is a lot of other good information available too!

    I've been impressed by BackLinkWatch.

    I used to use Yahoo Site Explorer but I find it acts weird about certain types of landing pages.

    Yahoo explorer is best
    Some time, a lot of link from same page/forum to one website, Google consider spam links and ignore them.

    there may be a difference between back link watch and other tools as they may have still not index your links or not.
