Rules How the Buyer Transaction History works

I've never paid attention to those little numbers in the square brackets before []. But just noticed that i have a red one in unpaid items. Can't find how this works - my guess is if you click a Buy It Now in auction, but then don't immediately complete and go back to paypal later and pay, that it says you haven't completed the transaction. Is that right? Or is it generated manually by the seller?

In any event, I don't have any outstanding deals that I haven't completed on. Is there a way of getting this removed?

    Many thanks for your help

In order for all your transactions to show that they have been paid you must use the link, "Verify With PayPalClick Here To Verify." Failure to use this link results in payment history show you have not paid for item.

So presumably I can't do that now as I've already paid. Is there a way of getting rid of it?

The only way would be to get payee to return funds and pay though link provided in thread.

@Opening Post. You have 3 days to pay via the BIN link, if you pay within this time, you get a paid item point, if you pay after 3 days you get a late paid point, and if you do not pay at all, you get an unpaid item point.

Unpaid item points can always be converted to late paid by simply paying via the BIN link (assuming the thread still exists). I have done it only once.

@Admin: What if the sale thread is deleted?
@Admin: Here is another interesting case, If I purchase the product by personal payment and not by the BIN link can the seller later remove the BIN link? If yes, would it avoid me getting an unpaid item point?

If it's deleted it wouldn't count for or against them since whatever was being sold wasn't allowed here anyway.

If you purchase it outside of the system, it wouldn't know you bought it anyway since you didn't bid on it. If you bid/BIN in the system and it's setup for Instant Pay, you would be expected to use it.

The thread may be deleted or merged to another one for more reasons.
In second question, I meant a sales page where I won the bid and paid via any other way, can the seller remove the BIN link so that I do not have to bear an unpaid payment point despite of paying for the item.

If they remove instant pay from it before you BIN, then it would be fine. If you aren't going to use Instant Pay, the best thing to do would be to not BIN for something that is setup for Instant Pay.

You still skipped the case of a merged thread.
And as a seller I do not see any option to remove instant pay even before the end of auction. It looked like a one way gate the last time I tried.

A merge is the same as a deletion. If a thread is merged to another thread, the source thread is deleted. If a thread is the destination of the merge, it's no different. The thread is still there.

Yes, you are right... I forgot that you can't "undo" Instant Pay. So my best suggestion would be to simply not bid/BIN things that are setup by the seller for Instant Pay if you aren't going to pay that way.

Ok, fine. But I have a case where the buyer didn't use the instant pay option and still was not marked with unpaid items.
It is not a complaint about him. But if you are interested in looking into the case the sales link is here:

Before I started trading on DP I looked for some guidelines that might hasve explained all this but couldn't find them -can you point me to them in case there's something else I've missed.

Not sure why his number was incorrect. Forcing a recalc seems to have updated it though. Will go digging on why it wasn't updated for him.
