    Hi Guys,
I have heard that sms marketing is a good way to earn traffic to websites. I understand that the latest gadget upsurge has made it possible to surf the web on the mobile instruments now. But what I don't understand is that the probability of these searches and how far do you fee these searches are going to be beneficial.

There are some millions of people who are Online at any given point of time, where as when you send SMSes it is going to a certain cut out- niche crowd only. When the conversion ratio of Online marketing where people are actually sitting on the computer to SURF the net, is gradually diminishing as direct searches are becoming more popular. How do you think MOBILES can make people surf, when I assume in 80% of the cases, they will be busy doing something else other than surfing.

That would be a very good approach, but i think it will be too expensive than web marketing.

The problem is that you have to pay a decent percentage for the sms services. But it can be extremely profitable in portal type sites. For example to get the download or register, visitor must send sms. IMHO...

I HATE this and so will the people you send the SMS too if they didn't subscribe to receivein the SMS messages. I belive twitter is doing a similar thing, you might want to check that out as the conversions may be higher due to more targeted traffic....
