Hello. Apologies if this is somewhat off topic for this forum but I was just wondering how successful Froogle had been for other users. I only recently realised that Froogle was free to list on, and decided to put some of the items I'm trying to sell on there, to supplement my listings on Amazon and eBay. I'm just a smaller seller really, just trying to sell on a lot of the stuff I have at home that I know longer need, which does include a few valueable items (laptop, phone, digital camera). Was wondering if those in a similar situation to myself had any luck with it? And if so, would you have any tips? Cheers and take care. Hussein.
I do get some traffic and sales but as it costs nothing and I have automated my feed I find it worthwhile compared to other sites that charge per click.
I posted all of my items on froogle, over 10,000 and I did get quite a bit of business from there, not enough to quit my day job but since it is the only place I advertise I would say it is really good for targetted traffic. They are looking to buy, thats why they are there.
Froogle/google base is great for driving traffic to your site, I have automated the xml upload from my site, and each item has a unique url, and I notice that googlebot spiders the urls I uploaded in the xml. So not only do you get targetted traffic from people seeing your google base items but you also get google spidering your site.
