I am wondering if it same timeframe for everyone or it depends on site. My site gets visited by googlebot very often but still it took around 2-3 days for my new page to got indexed. (I have started keeping eye on it from now).

Whenever new page is created, I submit updated sitemap to google.

I don't think that there is a timeframe it just depend from site to site. Some sites get indexed faster. I think it depends on content.

Qualitatively from what I've seen, the higher the site's PR the quicker new pages get indexed.

PR has nothing to do with it.

It depends on your niche. If there's no competition, you'll rank almost straight away.
If its a saturated market then expect to be sandboxed for a long time unless you have some very high PR sites pointing to your site.

My page gets indexed on 2nd or 3rd day, does it mean its getting sandboxed?. From what I have read (very little) about sandbox, its gray area and no one knows for sure about it.

For the top search term related to my new page, I see google returned 37K results, thats not too much to say.

PR definately has something to do with crawling of your site. High PR sites are crawled more often. If your site is crawled more often the chances are high for getting indexed fast.

Getting indexed, and ranking in SERPS are two different things. It is true that you will get good ranking in SERPS if there is less competition.

I read his post wrong, didn't realise it was a current site with a new page.
I thought he had a new site.
    Oops ;)
