Simply because the bookmark is usually in the form of a link & Google and other SE's will count this towards the total number of links your site has. You can also benefit from traffic coming directly from the bookmarking site.
you can send email to your network friends....................tweet them your website................and scrap them your services..................you can get direct traffic and more over you can use anchor tag in social networking.........
if yu want to get quick response from people and want to get quick visitors then ssocial medai and bokmarking is the ultimate place.
Yeah I agree.....google not only count links but also check the site you are linking to and as far as networking sites they really do help your site to get index very soon and get a good pr.
Social Networking builds your brand, not your linkage count. Most SM sites these days are nofollow or internally redirected, but that shouldn't be your main concern with social marketing. High reputation = more links from real people with their blogs, on forums, etc.
