Alright. I am in the process of building a new website. I have come up with a name already, but I needed to come here for help. What should I title my site so it gets ranked better in google. I am not asking for an ACTUAL site name, but I am asking for what words should I include in the title tag of my site.

My site is a blog about health (fitness, weightloss, gardening, ect..). Would this title be okay? "Mywebsite.com - Blogging About Health" or "MyWebsite.com - Heath & Wellness Blog"

I can't come up with anything good. I know those won't help me get ranked better...so even before I release my website I want to try to have a better title for my site. Any suggestions?? Also, do you guys think I should Include the title of my site in it? (Ex: "MyWebsite.com - Blogging About Health")

    Thank you guys!!:)

Don’t worry about having your website .com in the title, try to include your main keywords if you feel you can achieve high rankings. The keywords must be placed close to the title tag even before the business name.

Your title should not deceive people into thinking your site is something it’s not.

    Thanks Brian

Thanks for the reply.. Just to clarify, I should NOT include my website name in the title?

Also- How many characters should I limit my title to? I know I shouldn't have it too long, right?

Chose a keyword that is not competitive for health keyword and put it on your title. After you put the keyword on the title you can optimize it by building links to rank it well.

Yea, don't worry about putting your website in your title tag. Put your main keyword first and if you want you could put a little more after it, but you dont have to. I honestly prefer to only put the keyword in the title tag.

Also I am not sure about the exact characters, but you can usually fit about 8 words in the title.

Just use your targeted keywords on your title but make sure the title is also related to your article or content.

If I were you I would move the domain name itself to the absolute right, bottom anyway

Example : Main Keyword | A phrase with Second and Third Keywords combination - Domain.com

First thing is to determine what keywords you are going to premote. The keywords depends on your business content, your industry niche, competitiveness. You can use Google adword keyword tool to find the popular keywords in your industry. Then, you can add your keywords to your website title.

google usually displays first sites containing the search keyword in their title, then the ones with the search keyword in their page title, so search for the competitiveness of your key word and evaluate your chances of being displayed on the first page.

    My version:
"Heath & Wellness Blog (+ any targeted keywords) – MyWebsite.com" for homepage.
"Page title < Category title < Heath & Wellness Blog" for inner pages (posts).
