Hi everyone, My new site is mostly completed after a couple months of working on it, http://www.ridehustle.com , and I am now stuck as to how to promote it. The bottom line is it needs a lot of user added cars on it before it becomes interesting for browsing people, so how do I get those initial people to use it? would directory submissions for a site like this be worth it? I dont really want to do paid advertising because its a free site and im not marketing anything. Any ideas would be appreciated greatly! Thanks
Nice lookin site - well done! I can recommend you start working on getting your link attached to articles that are relevant to cars and placing them in relevant sites or blogs. Natural traffic will start visiting your site and contributing to its growth with content and giving it a rank along the way. Good luck
If you can afford to seed the site with some money perhaps you could offer prizes for the winners of the battles to induce people to submit their cars.
Have you noticed a pickup in traffic? You may also wish to consider a blog. I have just started a new online venture-- see this post about the new blog and my Alexa numbers. Q...
I'm trying a competition now, chance to win a free ipod for anyone who adds a car during the first week. Will see how it goes =)
I would say improve the look, because if you took away the members images of cars then the design doesn't look anything to do with cars. People want some trust in the site to post there cars and its got to impress them if you want them to bother to sign up. As for promoting try signing up to some car related topsites and join some big car forums with links in sigs as someone else suggested.
I love the design of your site. I am currently trying to market my site too. Would you be interested in doing a link exchange? (the site in my sig)
