How should I spend $200/month? Help Please

I have a small budget, about $200 per month, to spend promoting my hosting review site.

I'm not sure how best to spend this money. I made it to PR3, so it seem to have some backlinks, but traffic is still a little slow. I'm getting about 25 UV a day.

I thought to start google adwords do you think $200 is enough, because web hosting keywords are too competitive i won't get a chance to come on top with this small budget.

So I guess my real question is this - How should I spend this money to gain traffic.

Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated.

    many thanks

Webhosting keywords are really expensive. The risk is high but the return is high, too. My best suggestion is to go for article marketing. Hire a writer or buy some original articles.

Themesvalley is correct. I would focus on getting organic search engine traffic as opposed to PPC traffic which has a lower conversion ratio.

Do your research and find a website optimization specialist that can help you with your SEO project.

PS: Be sure that their own website ranks well before committing to anything!!!

Yeah, defiantly, before you start spending $200+ a month ts best to have a well optimized site first.

choose the keywords you want to rank high for and optimize for them. Build good inbound links and do lots of on page optimization. Maybe you could spend some money on someone to do this for you.

Personally, I would keep clear of paying for adwords or such until your site has a little more presence.

My best tip to you, sponsor some startup blogs getting at least 50 uniques a day, and get both a backlink and a banner ad from them.

Well actually you are wrong. PPC traffic is definalty more targeted, but obviously that depends on how you're getting them, just throwing a bunch of keywords at it and bidding high won't do you much.

Nope. PPC traffic is not targeted.

Note the findings by Penn State:

"PennState researchers found that on more than 80 percent of the searches, study participants went first to the results identified as "organic." Sponsored links were viewed first for only six percent of the time." Reference: [http://www.ccnmag.com/article/sponsored_versus_organic_links]

So, getting organic traffic would be more effective in the bigger scheme of things.

    Respectfully,

I don't suggest you to spend your money on adwords, etc unless you know what you do. Just try to optimize your website/blog...one or two days later you will see the result.

Oh yeah... do you want to enter a battle on the search engines against +30 million other web hosting companies?
    Do you think that's smart?

I personally get better results by finding high traffic sites that have visitors looking for content that's related to mine and I purchase ads on them. Great for seo and for traffic. In your business $200 isn't going to go far in advertising so you're going to have to do most of the work to help stretch that as far as you can.

Buying ads on those sites wont help you much on SEO man, unless you're not talking about adwords here.

I would recommend getting back links. $200 a month would be a decent amount of money to put towards an SEO effort. If you need some ideas, I've written a few articles that can help you get started!

$200 a month should get you going with PPC and CPA. It would be up to you to burn them or to actually make money from them.

But if you're here to burn money you better put that money away and at the end of the year you take it to the bank and invest it.

Dont want to put you down though, just saying whatever works best for you. I mean money is money. :p

I think you can use article marketing as a tool to get high PR backlinks.

Along with it, Press Release Submission to 125 PR sites can be of great help.

I can help you with traffic if you require my help.

    Thanks.

First You should get in touch with a site that will do some SEO, the webmaster will give you some alternatives and obviously he will guarantee some gain for your traffic. Second why spending money when you can spend some time and make some articles for example B-)
