I would like to set up a site in which people can submit there domains for sale, auction or swap. Now I wont make anything from these sales the seller will get 100% of the revenue.

Now here is the deal can anyone recommend / give or point me to a great FREE script for running such a site? I need something that will be easy to maintain, idealy no maintainance would be good. Also it would be nice if there was bulk function where people could upload their domains at once instead of one by one.

    I appreciate any help :)

Modify an existing auction or classifieds script depending on which format you want to offer.

Thanks for the advice, I know only very basic coding how much modding do you think they would need? Also I would prefer to give people the option to auction, buy-now or swap, is that possible with these type of scripts.

Lastly can you recommend any free ones? Or do I need to get this script made for me? If I need to get it made where can I get it done cheap.

    Thanks.

There are some free ones and quite a few lo cost ones.

Since you stated you aren't planning to charge and based on what you said above a basic forum script might work as well. There is a lot of trading that goes on here. Think of a site like this with only 3 or 4 forums. Buy, trade, acution, chat

Most cPanels offer the option to install one or more forum scripts. Most of the management is done from the backend. All are free.

What do you think of that?

I hear what your saying about the forum, I did think of that one myself but I was thinking about a system where the buyer could pay for the names using paypal without the need for buy-seller money handling, what I am trying to say is the site would be automatic, the buyer buys the domain name and clicks a link to pay the money and then the buyer will automatically get the money in their account.

I am not sure if this is possible with a forum site or not. But the other negative with a forum site is there is nothing to see on the homepage other than categories to forum threads, what I was thinking of was the homepage would be full of live auctions and buy it now domains.

    Your thoughts?

You may be adding something that goes beyond most of the scripts I have seen unless you are planning to be the "man in the middle" and I sure don't think you want to that.

That sure has a lot more pizazz than a forum type. Most scripts could handle this aspect. You might even be able to tweak a forum script.

Just thinking out loud here. The interesting thing is that I bet there are as many domains offered for sale here during the week as there are at Ebay. I tend to wonder if the people who buy and sell domains don't prefer the more casual method.
