people steal footage from my youtube videos all the time, but i can see they aren't really doing it for profit. i wouldn't mind i they just credit me as the source, you know?

I disagree. If he wanted to use your content, he should have asked for permission first. If he has ads on your content, he's using your hard work to make money because he is too lazy to write his own articles or too cheap to purchase articles. There are even article sites with free content for the price of leaving in the resource box, so there is no excuse.

If you want to be nice, you can send the blog owner a request to remove your content, but there is no requirement to do that.

I would file a DMCA takedown request with Adsense first (assuming he's using Adsense):
    Adsense
    http://www.google.com/adsense_dmca.html

Then give it a couple of days and file with:

    Blogger
    http://www.google.com/blogger_dmca.html

    Google Web Search
    http://www.google.com/dmca.html

The reason to do the Adsense notice first is that the content still needs to be up for them to see that there is a problem.

I agree few peoples find short cut in life. but these shortcuts is not profitable in long term. Because surely penalize. I saw one old blog has 10,000 pages indexed but their is no content. This guy just copy links and some content paste to his blog. But his alexa rank is not in one million.

    This is called Online Plagiarism.
