I have a blog about wordpress and blog tools. The site is almost 4 years old, has a steady pagerank 3, getting over 2k unique visitors, but only earning me < $3 per month with adsense. It makes sense to me that my visitors, who are most likely webmasters themselves, have no interest in clicking adsense ads. So I have tried hosting ads and premium theme ads, publisher affiliate ads, but with no result. Since the blog is doing great in google with only 11 posts, I'm pretty sure that I can triple the traffic easily when I start to add content on a regular basis. But how do I monetize this traffic?
2000 unique visitors, one day or per month? Just as you have said above, you can attend some affiliate programs about WordPress themes, or WP plugins, then you can earn some money once your visitors purchase those themes or plugins.
if you have only 2000 visits per month, $3 of adsense revenues is an acceptable result for this niche
Come on people.... I can't believe nobody said the obvious yet. 1. create a compelling offer on each page 2. Make people fill out a form to get the offer (use Aweber) 3. Now you build an email list which you can do tons of things with. (Sell your own product, clickbank, etc...) Getting 200 emails is way more profitable than $3/ month Good luck
Great suggestions... However, I would simply add that in additions to these mentioned in the above, I would also just add more content. If after 11 post you are already getting great results with your traffic than imagine. Make sure you keep your content relevant and straight to the point to keep your reader's attention. You will definitely see how much content can have a direct effect on your visitors. Hope this helps!
I agree with factchecker. It is much better to build a list than to try to only sell google ads. What you also should consider is developing your own product or products which you can sell. That way you have better control over your income, although it is a bit more work.
