I've come by some pretty good methods for my existing sites, but I'm trying something totally new because I picked up a (in my opinion) good domain for it. My website is The Forecast and I'm putting together a weather site. My question is, how should I market it? PPC seems way too expensive, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Try craigslist also this get put into search engines quickly. If you title the ad with your website URL you will get better results. Good Luck!
Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm not sure I understand. How would I advertise a weather site on... craigslist? Also, to the youtube guy - keep the ads out of the thread, okay?
No worries. Again, I'm not sure how Youtube would be relevant at all to a weather site, but if you think it is then I guess I'm open to trying.
I was going to say submit to directories, but the site looks short on content, some would be fussy about accepting it.
Just as a heads up - if you're targeting the US, they use Fahrenheit, not Celsius Your site only brought back Celsius results If you meant to have it that way - then never mind
if it is new dont use ppc - ppc is good if you are going to make money back or if you have a shitload of money and you do not care how much your spending for traffic
Save your money... You can get great results for free (other than time) using article marketing. Checkout http://www.thekaizenbusiness.com/?p=174 for a bit of a case study on how a brand new site was promoted using articles.
I wouldn't spend much on advertising this site. Rather build a tool so other websites could show weather on their site. That way you get marketing as well as backlinks.
I would definitely build a tool to allow other people to show the weather on their site. I would also incorporate my adsense code into the tool, so that your adsense is on their pages if they have the tool.
Well, but I'm using a feed from weather.com, so its just one after another... why wouldn't they just go to the source?
