How should I go about getting some traffic for my site?

Well right now, my website http://www.ringercentral.com is making about $2/day on Adsense. I think I provide a good service to people, I just need to make sure that thousands of people know there is no BS on my site. You just go there and get your ringtones.

I've done 'StormClix' for those who know what those are. They have brought me hits, but I think it's just people clicking.

I've tried doing 'ts25' but many wouldn't pay attention to my site.

I'm thinking about making a hilarious advertisement (me and my brother have a thing for being funny) and putting it on YouTube, Google Video, and then submitting it to eBaums World.

Also, I'm considering about $20 in Adwords to see where that will land me.

I'm hoping to make at least $15/day off Adsense. Hopefully by the end of June, I will reach that goal and set a higher one.

Try creating an RSS feed with the most recent additions to your ringtone library and building a Yahoo! widget off of it. The RSS feed is easy to code and you can modify an existing RSS readed widget by downloading an RSS reader from the Yahoo! widget gallery, decompressing it with the Yahoo! widget converter, customizing it and reconverting it into a widget file. Then submit you widget and if you are lucky, you'll end up on one of the first two pages of the gallery. Depending on the quality of your content, this could get you thousands of new visitors who may become loyal users.

It's all about testing and tracking with PPC like Adwords. Test different ads to see the response and see if it is worth it. If your goal is to make money off of Adsense while driving traffic via Adwords then you will have a very difficult time making the numbers work.

Twan.. how much traffic do you get daily and what is the major source of your web traffic?

I think if you have a reasonable amount of users coming to your site daily, you can put some CPM ads on your site to increase earnings.

Spending only about $5 on StormClix, they have brought me in a decent amount of traffic, but people are just clicking those to get paid. I feel with Adwords, interested people will click on the ads to check out the site.

I'm sorry, what are CPM ads? I thought what I have on the site now were CPM ads? I'm probably totally wrong, those are just CPC ads I would guess. Which are the Google CPM ads?

That traffic you buy its not really traffic..

I use (run) a banner exchange on my sites, one of the sites is now close up to 40.000 (daily stat) on alexia ranking.. try it

    Go to the buy,sell,trade forums.
    Some good directory submitters there.
Lots of places to put your link for sale or trade there.

Yeah, traffic exchanges are good only for traffic to your site, not buyers or lookers, just people racking up their own credits.
Banner exchanges are okay, but only for those that want to crap up their sites with banners that may have no relevancy to their site.

We can MANUALLY submit your site to directories for you (including the very important accurate category/subcategory placement work) so you can get direct traffic and one way links.

You can also try giving away free ebooks, posting on social networking sites to share free resources on your site.

I don't think I'm going to submit my site to those. They require me to link back. How well will one of the 15 MIDI sites do? I don't think that's the place for me to go.

    Edit: I'll try thefreesite
