    you can run offer for existing users. Ask them to refer their friends in return you can give them gift or certain point for referring. This is the best way to build chain among the users and you will get what you need.

    A simple thing like website badges, such as "Founders Club" or "Beta Tester" is enough to get people to sign up. Little benefits is where its at.

    This is a good idea but I do not think you need to start off by giving monetary rewards to those who sign up. eBooks or free reports on what your niche is about that gives value to people is enough bait I think.
