How should I get more people to sign up??

Hi all,

I am developing a new startup. It is called ChilledLime.

It will be fun place to start, join and browse online arguments (debates).

OK I have recently made a landing page. It is here: http://www.chilledlime.com
Users can sign up here for an email notification about the site entering private beta (the launch).

My question (simple): How could I get more people to sign up for my new startup?

There is an thank you page community that you can exchange traffic with. www.cotraffic.com

To get your opt in rate higher, you need to give something in exchange to get them sing up that is just one way you can do, just look around in this forum, search for opt-in rate and you will get tons of results

Here is an idea I used for a website myself. (You need to have money!)

Find a general forum or misc a forum . Start a thread with a title like "Giving money to association if you sign up here for free"

Make them join your website saying that this is a new concept you created and everything is free. Each people that join you will give $0.25 to an association ( Breast cancer or what ever you choose )

After joining, make them write the e-mail they used to join in your thread so you track the people.

 

Provide some incentives related to your service or website to make them sign up, downloads may be. I used it for one of my forums in the past and i got many members.

 

I agree with the suggestion of something free of value that you can offer them in exchange for signing up. It usually works well.

You can take help with social media like Facebook & twitter. Viral marketing will really help to get exposure as well as also will help to get visitor to sign up. Hope it helps!

 

This is correct. Aside from promoting your forums in other forums and blogs, you have to offer visitors something to propel them to sign up. You can then send them newsletters to invite them to participate in your forum daily.

but your site's sign up page seems to be just a opt-in page! May be you should make it look professional and start offering something for free, which is a valuable for your visitors, put some sentences that can attract your visitors to sign-up.

 

I'd say offer something for free like a debate ebook, but to get it they have to give their email. You can then send them a newsletter with debate headlines once a month to encourge them to come back.

 

At the beginning , i think u can try google adwords , yes , here u can get more traffics ,then get the more signup !

 

Create a facebook page will be a good idea to drive traffic.

You could offer a free competition where they can win prizes for signing up, something like a free eBook or similar info product

 

You need to have the volume first if not how does people know there is a competition going on?
Maybe using facebook ads can help.

 

Try to make some competition with rewards. Or just make some premium content only for registered users.

Why not get yourself over to fiverr and use a service like the one promoted here or here. I only discovered fiverr in the last few weeks and it seems pretty awesome and cost effective.

 

Suggest you to create an appealing capture page or advocacy page that may capture or sign up certain huge groups of people.
