I have a forum which is similar to off-topic. It doesn't have a specific topic. The problem is that I am not sure how I should advertise this website. Anyone has any hints that can give me?

    Thanks.

You can use adwords to advertise on other similar forums :)

    Hi Skyline,

I would suggest you find a topic, it is more difficult (because you need deep pockets) to market to a broad market.

You need to choose a specific topic, and focus on that.

If you don't have a topic, you're not sure who would be interested, where to find them, and cannot write effective ads to this specific audience. Hence, you need deep pockets to mass-advertise in order to find them, which is not the smart way to go for the little guy.

If for example, you had a how to grow tomatoes forums. Then you now know, you can go to how to grow tomatoes websites and strike deals with them so they can send people over to your website.

You can now approach people who sell how to grow tomatoes kits, and do the same.

You know which keywords people most likely to interact in your forums are going to type, so you can do SEO, or PPC to bring people aboard.

    It's just a start.
