How should I advertise this eBook?

I have an affiliate marketing eBook, which teaches and enriches people about affiliate marketing, as well as different methods of making money using it. I'm trying to find cost effective ways of advertising.

I know everybody will say google adwords, and I definitely am going to be running a campaign shortly. But I need other ways of advertising, besides forums postings. Would it be stupid to purchase traffic packs towards my site? Does anybody know any traffic places that would be targetted to affiliate marketing? Right now I'm selling the eBook for $5.. and will be gradually raising it to probably its peak of $15, which is 3 times less than it was suggested to sell for. It's 75 pages of great content with great reviews from people here at DP. Just need some brainstorming. + rep will be provided for helpful posts, thank you all very much.

Sell it for at least $17. If you have a good site, you will get it.

1.) Write and submit articles to not only the article sites, like ezinearticle, but content domains, like online magazines.

Not only do I do marketing, I also do dating and sex advice, and last year I even submitted to a health site. The Webmaster wanted to expand. If you can believe that shit.\

I don't care if it is a site on socks. I'll send the Webmaster a quick e-mail asking if he would like to do something different to his site, by adding a funny, short article on why women don't like guys in black socks and sandals, and how to find a date within 72 hours. Even with black socks! ;-)

    Think outside the box!

Don't give them the whole articles. ... Have it continue on to your site.

You don't have to write about just your subject. It can be on a whole array of things. Refer them to a funny video you saw at youtube. Talk about this one guy who made $200 on his blog last month. Talk about...anything!

Get a reputation as the guy who has good stuff to read.

Get people to like you, to like your submissions. If they like you, many of them will click on your URL that you will have at the bottom of your submissions.

This is how some are successful with FaceBook, MySpace, DIGG, and other such sites.

    They think outside the box!

If you have the money, do the same in newspapers. Get a weekly column going of just neat stuff to read, along with your subject.

2.) Place ads in as many search engines as you can. There are more than just Google, MSN and Yahoo.

3.) At the end of all your submissions, put down your URL, your name, your age, and the state where you live.

This adds punch to your submissions.

    Again...think outside the box.

4.) Pay bloggers to talk about your site.

5.) Get an infomercial going. Get a couple of sponsors to pay for it.

6.) Advertise on as many cheap sites as you can afford.

The real secret to bringing in A LOT of consistent, targeted visitors, if you can really call it a "secret," *cough* is...
...to find Websites that have low to mediocre advertising rates, and making sure that the visitors may like the product.

Get enough of them lined up like ducks on hunting day, and make the big smackaroos through volume.

Make, say, $10 a day, times 30 days = $300 a month. Take that $300 and buy more ads. Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat...

There are a lot of Websites out there that have good traffic, while selling space at a very low rate. It's unbelievable the number of high-traffic sites that are out there and the owners sell their space for pennies on the dollar because they don't know any better.

They can have, say, a few hundred thousand monthly visitors, but they don't think they can get the price they really want. Partly is because many of them are afraid of scaring off potential advertisers.

The hard part is finding them. You just have to do a search on a bunch of keywords that best match sites that have visitors who would like what you are offering.

And, of course, let's not forget the smaller sites. Multiply 10 sites who have only 100,000 monthly hits, and that's a grand total of one million hits.

But, first check to see if your site and your ads look ok to others. Ask family, coworkers, friends, message board members, your mailman.....

Once you got the ok, then start off small with advertising. Put ads in Google and other search engines. The reason being is that if you can't get any sales, there is still a problem with your site and or the product.

It's better to lose a fist full of dollars, than four fist fulls.

You also have pay-per-click services: TextLinkAds, TrafficSwarm, Casalemedia.com, FastClick, Burstmedia, FC, TribalFusion, CJ, Azoogle, CPA Empire, GlobalInteractive, AdBrite, Adengage, RealMedia, Kontera, Avnads and ValuClickMedia.

There are many, many more tips that will work for you.

The eBook is great, and it has received many good reviews. I have lowered the price to induce some sales, but it's going slowly. I will definitely do what you have suggested and I greatly appreciate your advice. + Rep.

    lol a few things...

You may want to get rid of the crossed out 97$ That, clear on down to the now $15? A bit much, that is slashed, don't ya think? Perhaps $37, slashed down to $17??? Tell them that it is a winter promotional sale where they will save $20?

Your page is waaaaaaay too long. I thought of an idea for mine. I turned it into a "Virtual Gallery Tour."

I broke up a really fucking long page into 4 short seperate pages, with a free tip on each one to keep them going.

You should be giving free samples of your book anyway. Shouldn't you?

    Just a thought.

You may not agree with this one, but I have talked to a lot of people, and the one thing they say is that they are getting tired of pages like yours. Loud text, and the usual-looking template site.

I don't know, brother, since there are so many shit products out there, and such sites that push it are associated with that same ol' look, perhaps you should consider changing things around.

Anyway, good luck with it. I hope ya make it.

Oh trust me, I agree with that. I hate the length of it. I just am terrible at working with editting sites. However, I'll take a bunch out later. The site turns me off to the product as well, seeing as how the eBook is excellent. I'll see what I can do about that and thanks again for the advice.

Thank you very much for your advice. My eBook isn't going to tell you how to get rich quick, it's going to tell you how to actually make money. I'm not claiming it's a get rich quick scheme. Hopefully that adds points for it, but if you follow everything you can certainly make a great amount of money. I will definitely look into putting it on ebay and adding the reviews to my website! I was thinking of doing that, just have to figure out how :p.

What do you all think about a mailing list?

Okay, I cut my site down a lot! Took out a lotttt of unnecessary information/paragraphs. For those of you who have seen it before, is it better?

Also, how do you all feel about advertising with a mass email to a targetted (hopefully) mailing list? I'm going to start SEO with my site as well as google adwords, so we'll see what happens, but I'm up for thoughts. Thanks everyone!

You really like that top picture, don't you? :)

I asked a couple of my past customers for their first impression of the picture, and the site itself. One said that that it looked like one of those money-making template pages, and he had doubts on such sites. The other said that it reminded him of basically the same thing.

That was my first impression when I saw the typical picture of the beach.

Sorry. I hope I didn't offend you, but....

But hey, maybe you can still get enough sales from it to quit your job.

Think about this, though...just think about it is all...

Put in a picture of a successful affiliate many already know. Put the picture in a two by two table, with the picture to the right and the text to the left. Talk about him a little bit, and how your visitors can be successful to.

Maybe, maybe on top put "How Successful Affiliates Did It"

Start off looking like an article people want to read.

Take out the typical loud, different colored text you see in sites that don't offer jack shit to readers. You don't want them to think of such sites.

Where are your free tips, samples?

    This is vital!

You have way too many exclamation points!!! Take 'em out, cousin!!! It reeks of the typical template, make-money now site that is nothing but crap!!

Talk to your visitors like you would talk to them in person.

    Would you yell at them?

In your section, "do you want to see real life proof," all I see is a screenshot of a diagram that anybody can make up. You may want to consider taking that out.

I'm not saying that you did, it's just many will think that.

Put all that you can offer them either in bullets or next to thumbnail pictures.

Make it easier for them to read.

Change to "Read Free for 10 Days." It sounds better.

Where's your "description" of the site in your HTML code?

I'm not much or SEO as I think it is overrated, but it still needs to be done, just in case.

Leave out the keywords in the code, because you have plenty in your site.

The red text in the yellow squares makes the site look cheap.

You may want to take out the yellow, and repace it with a light gray border, and darken the red text some more. Like you have in "can," and "however."

    Make it look elegant.

Put the ordering form right in front of them. You want impluse buyers.

I never understood why so many have a link that goes to the form when it can be slapped down right in front of them.

If you find that your page is getting longer again, break it up into two pages. In most cases long-ass pages do not sell. Trust me.

Anyway, I know you don't agree with it all, which is cool, but think about it, and good luck with it.

No I agree with most everything you said and thanks a lot for your advice. I wish I knew coding/designing so I could actually do most of it right away, but I will start tonight working on a few things you mentioned. You've been a great help to me, thanks a lot Perry + rep.
