    If you have lot of traffic in your site then your the page rank of your site will be increased. So in order to get lot of traffic you will have to do the SEO of your site. Try to do social bookmarking as much as you can. It will really effect to get good page rank of your site.

    There is no stamped procedure for effective SEO... Also, one day is very-very short period for getting rankings in search results.

    For getting good rankings, here is a short list of 'must do' things,
    - Publish quality content on your website
    - Get quality backlinks for your webpages
    - Build a good social media reputation

    Although, these things won't give you instant results... but if you follow them relgiously you may get good and long lasting results.

    Yes i agree with you that seo is very important for a google ranking.you should make a good backlinks on a good sites to increase google ranking.there are many task to make a backlinks on a sites.like directory submission,social bookmarking,blog comment,forums posting,yahoo asnwers,articles submission etc.
