How secure is PHPbb?

    How secure is PHPbb? Is it very vulnerable to exploits/attacks?

    I'm debating whether or not to get vBulletin or to just go with PHPbb. While the forum isn't going to be extremely popular, as it isn't the focus of the website, I am going to use the user registration that the forum provides to create accounts for my entire website.

    phpbb2 is a nightmare but phpbb3, at least till now is holding on real well and is real stable.

    Depends on your level of knowledge but PHPBB 3.x is way better to mod/update plus it has a stronger captcha. :cool:

    phpBB 2 had lots of spam.

    I think the problem as been resolved in phpBB 3. :D
