Hello, I tried out escrow one time, had sold my site for 1000 $. The transaction was ok. Now I am going to sell a domain for 7k - 9k $ and I am a bit scared of to get scammed. So I got some questions, it would be great if you guys could help me answering those questions: We say the buyer sent the money to escrow, escrow approved his payment and now I am in action to give him the domain. We say I give him the domain, I click on escrow.com that I gave him the domain. Now he is in turn that he confirms that he got the domain. Now I am a bit scared, we say he says that I didn't give him the domain, what now? How will be there a proof that I gave him the domain? If you say via whois of the domain, that he got the domain, what about if he has another whois name as on escrow.com or whois guard?? They can't then check who the domain have right now? I am also scared of while inspection days, that the buyer says "I don't want the site anymore, I give him the domain back". In this case escrow gonna ask me if I got back my domain, we say, he says yes, and I didn't get the domain, what now? Please help me guys out of those 2 questions I am a bit scared to get scammed. I would be very thankful for any answer Thank you in advance.
Escrow verifies Changes in WHO is Information & if any domain is transfered.. Buyer can't claim that you didn't give him Domain/Site.. Anyways...you must be careful. Use A Brooker to sell Domain, I can't help you to find one if you wish.. he will take small % of Total Cost.
Thanks for your answer. Ok, they will verify WHO is information, what if I transfered, the other part has another whois information than on escrow, he could then just easily say 'I didn't get the domain'. Do you know more about it? Did anyone get scammed with escrow? Would be thankful for more answers.
Lazino, I am in the same boat as you. I have been scammed by buyers using paypal. I am about to sell a site for a couple grand, and was wondering the same about escrow....
if you don't trust the buyer for some reason i would wonder why you are making the sale in the first place. if the domain is really worth more than 5K you should be able to find more than 1 buyer (unless its a really niche or weird name or something)... anyway try not to do business with people you dont trust. if you must sell to someone you dont know and dont trust escrow.com is a good method to do so. i've sold a good amount of domains through them from 4 to high 5 figures and never had a problem, even with completely anonymous buyers. just make sure to do your homework, verify the buyers contact information, name address, Phone (if possible) and stay on top of the transaction. It's very difficult to circumvent the escrow.com process and I haven't heard any major horror stories. good luck with your sale!
