Hi, I have about 20 sites that I own. How safe is it to link them together? I am not talking about spammy links on every page, but one or two links per site, where a relevancy occurs. Most of the sites are on the same server / IP, I should point out. Does google penalise for this practise? I know that a lot of people do this with huge success but is it dangerous? Thanks, Jez.
since we're talking about 20 sites only, i personally think that this is safe. it doesn't make sense if google punishes this since there are many legitimate businesses that would link to their sister/affiliate sites...
Thanks daboss, That's what I presume also. It's 20 sites ATM but is growing, so there will be more in the future, though I doubt it would ever run into 100's. If it did I would think that I would be looking at additional servers and IP's at that point anyway. Thanks for replying. Jez.
generally this wouldnt matter.. your sites would have different content and therefore no penalty to linking.. however with many sites listed on the same IP there could be a problem (not a penalty problem, just not much of a benefit). I think as long as you dont do heavy linking, and only link in the relevant areas you can gain some benefit from this. if you were on different IPs and servers you could gain more benefits.
Its safe! But you must keep close understanding of your linking pattern. 95%+ are judged thru patterns and in very rare cases penalities are manual.
I link all my sites and this brings me good traffic ..... Sure no SE will penalize you for this .... It may not help with SEO but traffic counts too
Mong, can you elaborate, please? I assume you are saying, keep it low, relevant and not get greedy. Or are you saying avoid a pattern? Thanks, jez.
You can link from all of your sites to your major site and then from major site to other sites. This is a Hub & Spoke version
