If a yahoo user want's to change their email password these are the security questions he can choose from. What is the last name of your favorite musician? What was the last name of your favourite teacher? What was the last name of your best childhood friend? What is the name of the hospital where you were born? What is your main frequent flier number? What is the name of the street on which you grew up? What is the name of your favorite book? Who is your favorite author? Where did you spend your childhood summers? If any of this information is posted on another site such as facebook or myspace then it's possible to use it to gain control of an email account. Obviously you still need to have the persons email address to begin with but it's not too difficult. If there are RS account details,Paypal info etc in your email account.....well I'm sure you get the picture. It's becoming apparent that phishing of RS accounts isn't just about clicking on a fake link.
Hmm nice info, but its not always easy to do this, cause some people make totally diff answers specially me
the other day I received an email from Spammer company addressed me with My own email address shown in From: and My own name shown in Addressee. I made an e-mail to and they auto replied which said they will take action within 72 hours. This is the security level I think. Let's see what will they do.
like cyberjobs said i put different answers like: q:How is your mom name? a:my dad name or something different. also is higly recommended not to post anywhere on the web personal information. be safe
With those types of security questions, I always pick the toughest question, and I answer it, but at the end I enter a special code which I memorize, so if anyone knows the answer, they won't know the last part of it
For the questions, My answer in always weird answer that people can't imagine . I also take note of answers in a corner only I can find . The insecure aspect of email is the trojan of your pc . They might steal your password while you forget the answers and can't get back your email account .
mine's wicked safe. I have a password thats 12 characters long and has like a bunch of foreign characters in it haha
