I am wondering there are so so many websites providing free downloads for ringtones. What is there business cycle ? How they make so many ringtones? Do you know something about it ?
What you mean matey? Most websites are selling ringtones, they dont give them away, and the ones that say they do, usally lead to a payment screen in the end ;-) Some sites offer free ones, that users have made, and do not have any copyright. Sites like these just make cash from adsense or other ad programs, or like Seiya says, Affiliates. Take a look at zedge - its got to be one of the biggest free ringtone sites - it has loads of user submited tones for free, then the good ones, you pay for. - but that site makes its cash from adsense by the looks of it.
I run http://www.freeringtoneheaven.com and http://wap.icarusindie.com:2004/ FRH has over 27,000 ringtones and wap.icarusindie.com has over 51,000 Both sites are 100% free. No hidden subscriptions or fees. You do have to remember that your cell phone company may charge you for data transfer. To find ringtones you just have to dig around the internet to find collections of MIDI files. The site is built using PHP and mySQL. The challenge is finding a host with enough disk space and bandwidth for a reasonable price. Ben
Most of the companies give you the first few ringtones free but then charge you about $5/month or something like that. Nothing is really free in this world though, read the small print that you see on those "free" offers. I must say that there are some free ringtones website but the ringtone has to be unique (can't be a song that is owned by a label). For every ringtone download the record labels want some of the money just like they want some money from every song downloaded. On a side note, I am starting a ringtone website and im looking for partners!
