Questions: 1. How much of the quality score is affected by how many keywords I use in the headline, description line 1, and description line 2? I ask this because I'm having trouble juggling using all the keywords in my ad copy vs writing a compelling ad copy with only one keyword in it or no keywords in it (it's still related to what people are searching, it's just a more creative, interesting unique approach rather than the typical "buy dvds now" etc). My landing page has all my keywords in context anyhow, so if quality score is only marginally affected by having keywords in the headline.. I'd be willing to forgo it to come up with witty, creative headlines that will definitely get more clicks. So what if my ad copy doesn't have bold words in it.. hell, with everyones ad copy being bold nowadays, it might standout more to have one that isn't. I'd love to hear anyones thoughts on this stuff.
Hmmm, maybe no one actually knows the answer, because Google don't publish their algorithms Don't try too hard to keep your keywords in title, line1, line2. You don't need to overstuff the keywords because the ad text is tempting a searcher to click on your ad. However, don't say 'download free report' and then expect the searcher to pay for the report when they get to your landing page ... this would be an example of poor relevance and would hit your quality score. Personally I think relevancy is very important from the keyword to the ad to the landing page. If you are having ads where none of the keyword phrase is in the ad, you might need to break your program into different ad groups so you can more specifically target ads to those keywords.
I also discovered that the quality score is also influenced by top 10 search results. So if you optimize your ads and landing page for digital point but top 10 search results have nothing to do with your site, your quality score decreases.
From a Campaign I'm running. I might also be wrong.... Another possibility is that google ranks words according to their own "related" criteria. For that instance, if my ad says zzzxx, my site is zzzxx.com and my content is zzzxx optimized but google thinks zzzxx is something about gardening and your site is about advertising, then it will give you a worse quality score.
