How profitable are proxy sites?

Are proxy sites easy to monetize or do they require a lot of work like blogs or normal sites?

They are easy to monetize, but take alot of time and work. They are profitable like anything else. The market is extremely saturated, schools are out now, so the Summer is not the time to start making money.

Yeah I know that's why I'm asking. Alright thanks, I kinda thought it'd be easier because the people that use proxies are regular people unlike webmasters who never click on ads.

How do you make money from proxies? Is it just advertising?

Now is probably the best time to start a proxy because it's out of "season".

As mentioned in a previous post the market is saturated. Kinda like these silly little reseller web hosts but this will give you time to do the required SEO/SEM on the site so when proxy "season" does start again, your site will be up there.

The thing is, I still go to school meaning that I get to interact with the proxy users so If I can get them to my site then MUAHAHAHAHA!

Why limit yourself to one school when you could do the job properly and make 4x the money?

Theres alot of things proxy.org isnt doing that you could do. Like make a better widget, and have a report links function to get rid of the spam blogs and parked pages.

It doesn't seem worth it to me. There are tens of thousands of proxy sites all of which are the same. And there isn't really much you can do that makes your site any different than the others.

If I target my school, they'll tell the other schools.

    We'll see about that ;)

I don't care if I make 10 cents a day, as long as I'm not in debt it's good.
My school has horrible security, I can easily hack it and make all the websites go to my proxy but then I'd spend the next five years of life in jail lol.

Why'd you make a topic and ask then if you already have made up your mind?

I have ideas In my mind, I haven't made up my mind yet. I was hoping to hear from some Proxy owners... I think I might just do it as an experiment not even to profit from it.
