How Profitable Are Directories?

hmm.... actually, i think (and i may be wrong) that the main purpose for most is to make money. You can prob derive some sense of satisfaction with establishing your site and improving it and seeing return customers, but if the main objective is not to make money, then i'm not sure what other reasons can there be. It's definitely not the most glamorous thing to do on the web.....

 

Someone seems to be very intellegiant in the directory business
which is very rare with such low post count.....as its always the guys with
little post count asking the questions and not giving the answers....

Regardless agreed on most points.....

I think this thread should go in the sticky I think you need to make a loss at first, investing. After 4 months I'm just beginning to see some solid returns (but still not making a profit)

 

Personally, I appear to be horrible at the monetization aspect of things... but I am good at spending money to advertise it!

 

well, at least you are good at one aspect of it, not the most impt aspect but still AN aspect i guess...

 

Hey, good point... instead of feeling like a dufus for the bad half I'll take pride in the good half!!!

It takes Money To Make Money......

You can go the long way around which will take more time
or you might luck out the first time and google gives you a PR6
but then again thats were the PR prediciction comes in handy

Thanks a lot malcolm. I am just trying to be realistic. Noone is going to give me anything unless I am worth of it and this I know very well. I'm new to this buisiness but not new to buisiness generally. I can use all support I can get. Thanks again.
