How Powerful are forum sigs?

Do they have a large impact on PR and SERP's? In low numbers, like less then 500, and in high numbers, like more then 2000?

Not only can they help with backlinks, but the anchor text you use in the signature can help with SERPS. One very popular, high PR forum had my signature in it. During a search of my keywords, I saw posts that I made on that forum coming up in the top 5 results in Google, because of my signature anchor text.

Hi ... I just started using forum sigs, here and elsewhere, as a form of advertising site content and developing back links. My back link count, per the google Dashboard, went from 2,336 to 2,499, in about 10 days. Might be chance. Might be catch-up by directories. Might be forum sig advertising. Most likely, a mix of all three. My advice, given my experience, is to go for it.

If you're going to buy -- anybody have forum sigs for rent, BTW? -- set some bench marks, such as 500 postings, on one site, in a relatively brief time -- 3-4 months, and some indication a few new posts -- 4 or 5 -- made each day, on average. The result is a lot of back links, from a lot of forums. This is good.

    Hope this helps. Good luck.

Spiders loves fresh contents.. and forums contents are fresh everyday... That's why they usually get crawled by bots... In that way, it serves as a backlink for your sites... :)

Form posting with signature increes the back link. But the content of the website should be good . The key word which you r using has to be in the web content also. This is my knowldge.

I often see questions asked in forums show up on Google when I do search for site....good for SEO...not good for customers to see questions and answers :)

Works for my site which is PR5...looking for good link exchanges too, directory is PR4 http://www.napoleon.cc/directory :D

    Thanks
