Hi, Just wondering how popular versus Paypal are these other payment systems? eGold 2Checkout Authorize.net Is it worth while having them as a payment option? How do they compare for fees? Regards Tommy
You don't know haw online payments work? 1. Authorize.net is the biggest CC procesing gateway (I think). They have some of the smallest fee on industry. 2. 2Checkout buy products from you and sell them to your client. 2Checkout is the seller. They have bigger commisions. 3. eGold is an e-courency. It is hard to buy and sell e-gold.
Authorizenet.com is an electronic payment gateway, like LinkPoint and Verisign's Payflow. Most use the First Data's platform to process transactions and First Data owns LinkPoint. LinkPoint is also sold through the largest ISO (Chase / Paymentech) as YourPay but now it uses the same engine as LinkPoint. With an electronic payment gateway, you will get your own merchant account and money is usually deposited into your account automatically within 24-72 hours of the batch. 2CO is similar to Paypal as it acts as an intermediary between your customer and yourself.
I dont' know much about other two processors but I know lots about Egold. Egold is the best payment processor in my view having very very low fees as compared to other payment processors. And I dont think selling any buying egold is a problem, there are lots of debit cards available , to withdraw and load your egold account.
I used Egold and it's good fees are not much the only drawback is the no chargeback...where as 2checkout is cost effective way to accpet cc payments but thier support sucks Saad
I have set up some clients with 2CO. It was a little more costly than Authorize.net but easy to set up and start up cost is low. 2CO integrated a little better than PayPal.
PayPal is great for accepting bank payments, etc, so be smart and just get a personal account to receive payments. For credit cards, definately use 2CO, as their service is cheap and convenient. Though, it's always best to become a merchant yourself, and accept credit cards yourself. Companies like PayPal and 2CO don't protect the seller well.
Agree with you. e-Gold is in addition hard to understand for the average surfer, not familiar with payment processes.
