lol he'll benefit if you copy the image from his site because he'll sue you.

Unless there's a tracking pixel on the image, alt text that is the URL of his site, or something along these lines, he can't benefit.

I do not condone stealing images, paid images or royalty free is the way to be: Whenever you use an image on your site you did not create, recreate the image to clear up EXIF and other kinds of data.

Tracking Pixel aka web bug, but on an image? Don't believe so..

    Ontopic:
Don't remove watermarks that's like going to a store and removing the price and the logo - basically stealing.
Unless you have an deal with that guy.
But your question was how can he profit that way - no way if you use his images.
Only if you use his referal links or something along those lines.

A tracking pixel, and yes...they can be on an image...., can send analytic information, or something more sinister like cookie stuffing or contain an iframe to gain false credit from vendors. CPA networks, and big name marketing firms use them, which is why you shouldn't allow images to display in your emails. But you already knew this and have taken appropriate measures, right?

The fact you were bewildered one could be on an image says a lot, and is baffling(wow, imagine that, an invisible tracking pixel on an image! What will they do next? Be able to encrypt text and other data files in an image too? NO! Can't be!...).

Oh, look, you added nothing my post didn't already say.

The amount of people that senselessly try to go against anything new that's said on this forum in a baseless, affronting manner, is astounding.

So wait, you are saying that if I download an .jpeg image on my Desktop and I open it the tracking web bug is still there? And if I upload it again on a website he's still active?

Or that only goes for the original image's website and nowhere else? I mean that the web bug is only 'active' when viewing it on original website...?

Also I'm not trying to go against something new, just untill you have mentioned the tracking pixel - I did not know anything about it so thank you for updating me with some new information.

Stolen image with all the impressions of owner removed doesn't pass any benefits in any which way. The only way to get benefited is by suing you :)

There is the copyright issues if you are taking image from some other sites and the image owner can file a sue against you or can take online action. There is no benefit to the image owner if somebody takes his/her image unless and untill if there is some link provision pointing to the image owner's website.
